Agreement

By using carats.fyi or the Carats iOS app ("Carats"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Service Description

Carats provides gemstone search, market price data, and visual gem identification. You may use the camera or photo library to identify gemstones and view estimated market pricing. Results are informational and should not be treated as professional gemological appraisals.

Subscriptions

Carats offers a free tier with a limited number of daily gem identifications. You may subscribe to Carats Pro for unlimited access.

• Billing: Carats Pro is billed as a monthly auto-renewable subscription through Apple's App Store at the price displayed at the time of purchase.
• Free trial: If a free trial is offered, it converts automatically to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
• Renewal: Your subscription renews automatically each month. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time through your Apple ID account settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
• Price changes: Subscription prices may change. You will be notified in advance and must agree to any price increase before it takes effect.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools to scrape data or overload the service
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Resell or redistribute data obtained from the service without permission

Accuracy and Disclaimers

Gemstone identification and pricing data are provided for informational purposes only. Carats does not guarantee the accuracy of identification results, carat estimates, or price data. Market prices are derived from aggregated listing data and may not reflect current market conditions or the value of any specific stone.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, carats.fyi and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to reliance on identification results or pricing data for purchasing or selling gemstones.

Intellectual Property

All content, data, and software on carats.fyi and in the Carats app are owned by or licensed to carats.fyi. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the service without written permission.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state where the service operator resides.
